The Star Astraea was built to carry a colony between stars and keep that colony alive long enough to land. It is one of Vesper Horizons' Hesperia-class colony liners, a ship built around a non-rotating spine with ten vast rotating rings mounted along it. During cruise, Astraea is less like a city at full life and more like a machine holding a sleeping civilization in suspension.
Ring 1 serves as the awake crew and services center. The colonist rings remain mostly quiet under cryo hold. Ring 9 is the ship's medical and biosecurity heart. Ring 10 carries heavy industrial support, sourcing, and gravity-side service operations. The spine between them is a zero-g utility world of rail lines, transfer locks, service volumes, power trunks, and inspection routes.
Astraea is not held together by drama. It is held together by procedure. People do their jobs, follow the chain, sign what they can defend, and keep the mission certifiable. That is what matters three years into a ten-year crossing.
